We are pleased to announce that following the successful release of the WorldCover 2020 map, the European Space Agency (ESA) decided to extend the WorldCover project.

Two years after its kick-off the ESA WorldCover consortium is pleased to release the 10 m WorldCover map, a new global baseline land cover product for 2020 based on Sentinel 1 and Sentinel 2 data.

Two years after its official kick-off the WorldCover team released the first global land cover map at 10 m resolution based on Sentinel-2 and Sentinel-1 data.

In a couple of months, ESA's WorldCover team will release the first global land cover map at 10 m resolution.

The ESA WorldCover team successfully finished phase 1 of the project and released a first prototype land cover map.
